Bayinchaolu, the Party Secretary of Jilin province, met with German ambassador Ke Muxian (Michael Clauss), on Wednesday, January 21, in the city of Changchun, to discuss his country’s further investment in Jilin.

The Party Secretary gave a description of Jilin’s economic situation and plans to their visitor, particularly the provincial plan for revitalizing its heavy industry, and noting that Jilin has a solid foundation in automobiles, the chemical business and pharmaceutical industry and an abundance of land and natural resources.

Bayinchaolu also invited more German companies to increase cooperation with Jilin in the above areas in 2015.

 Ke Muxian responded by expressing an interest in China’s plan on revitalizing the old Northeast Industrial Bases, especially in Jilin, and said Germany is looking for more economic cooperation here in the future.

So far, there have been many German companies setting up businesses in Jilin including FAW-Volkswagen, and BASF Changchun.
