Jilin province to protect its ecological environment

Bayinchaolu, secretary of the Jilin Provincial Party Committee and Jiang Chaoliang, the governor, met with Chen Zhu, the deputy of the National People’s Congress (NPC) and the chairman of the Chinese Peasants' and Workers' Democratic Party in Nanhu Hotel in Changchun, the province’s capital city on Jan 28.

During their meeting, Bayinchaolu pointed out that Jilin province is one of China’s important old industrial and commodity grain production bases and the earliest pilot demonstration area of ecological civilization construction.
Jilin is entering a key period for boosting its economy with the support of the central government, he continued, and it will take advantage of its good ecological environment and rich natural resources to promote its economic and social development.
Chen Zhu affirmed the local government's contributions to Jilin's economic development and its support for the Chinese Peasants’ and Workers’ Democratic Party.
He said the Party would work with the Committee and government to protect the water resources, and deal with water pollution.
The participants in the meeting also included provincial officials Fang Li and Xun Fengqi, secretary general of the provincial government Li Fuchun and leaders of other departments.
