Korean tourist gets help in Jilin airport

2015-01-30

Cui Changnan, a Korean passenger looked very worried as he had missed his flight back to Korea on Jan 12, in Yanji international airport.

The Korean passenger meant to visit his son in Korea on the early morning of that day, but had been delayed by something unexpected on his way to the airport.

"I was 90 mins late for my scheduled flight," Cui said. "I totally got lost in the airport as I can only speak Korean, and had no Chinese yuan or cellphone with me."

But, he was lucky enough to receive help from two airport staff. Mu Guixiang and Liang Xiaoyan, who happened to be on duty that day, helped the old Korean man change his flight ticket right after they had heard Cui’s story.

"Ms. Mu had taken out some pocket money, and asked me to grab a taxi back home and to get to the airport on time the next day," the old man recalled. "I was so moved."

So, the next day, Cui took his flight on time.

When talking about the Korean passenger’s story, Ms. Mu said, "helping others is part of our job, and we are happy to help him."

Yanji city, located at the foot of Changbai Mountain, attracted more Korean tourists, particularly during the ski season in 2014. And the city’s airport has been trying to improve its customer services to meet the demands of increasing outbound tourists.
