Economic restructuring in NE China

National People’s Congress (NPC) deputies from Jilin province have called for local governments to move ahead with economic structuring and innovation, now that Premier Li Keqiang has given emphasis to economic restructuring with more public goods and services to boost consumption related to information and tourism.
Li made the remark at a recent group discussion, in Beijing, with CPPCC delegates so, the Jilin delegates reached a consensus at a discussion on local development and said, "We should keep economic growth within a reasonable range and continue with economic restructuring."
A NPC delegate and chairman of the FAW (Group) Corp, Xu Jianyi, said that his company will focus on quality and efficiency to increase competitiveness and market advantages and that the provincial city of Changchun, a development center, needs to use the opportunity to adjust its economy.
In commenting on the city of Jilin’s development, Zhao Jingbo, another delegate and Jilin city Party secretary, said, "We have a plan to develop emerging industries, including biotechnology, IT, health care and aircraft maintenance, and put greater emphasis on tourism by using our snow resources. We’ll also pay closer attention to industrial applications in the Changchun-Jilin innovation pilot zone."
Jin Yuhui, a delegate from the city of Liaoyuan, emphasized the comparative advantages of his city, explaining, "Food processing is our strong point, so selling our agricultural products online is something we’re working on."
Jin concluded, "In contrast to faster-paced cities, such as Changchun and Jilin, we’re developing into a livable place."
