NE China continues economic growth in Q1
2015-04-30
Jilin province's statistics department reports that the province has kept its economic growth steady in the first three months of 2015 while adjusting to the "new normal" with a slower rate of growth, after setting a 6.5 percent target for last year.
This year, its economy grew 5.8 percent. Although it shows a period of slower growth, it still maintains its growth within a "proper range" and represents progress in economic restructuring and reforms, a department official explained.
The province's main industries are agriculture, forestry and fishing and they maintained a growth of 3.1 percent in the first quarter, while the services industry saw more rapid growth, at 8.4 percent.
The changes in Jilin's economic development, in consumer spending, investment, exports, and production are consistent with China's overall macroeconomic situation.
