NE China celebrates charity day

The city of Changchun, capital of Jilin province, is asking local people to join two events themed with "Small Charity Makes a Huge Difference" as part of the 7th Changchun Charity Day, on May 19.
By hosting two events, the city government hopes to encourage people to offer as much help as they can for the cause of autism.
Everyone is welcome to take part in the event by simply showing up on the city's Confucian Temple Square, 1:00-3:00 pm, on May 17 to make a donation for those below the age of 18 who suffer hemophilia or live with financial hardships.

The other charity effort is to help 300 elderly people who live alone and with financial difficulties.The Changchun charity organization is handling the program and hopes that volunteers can offer their services for one-on-one assistance.
