His blushing bride? Well, that's Pan Suzhen, a 62-year-old widow whose husband had passed away and who had her hair dyed black the day before to give her that youthful look. The couple were brought together with the help of neighbors, dutifully registered with the local civil affairs department and collected their marriage certificate.

Sun was in a strange predicament because he came to Changchun way back in the 1960s, with his brother, from their home in Shandong province, where his residence remained, but it had been canceled because of his long absence and he had no real residence in Jilin. So, he couldn't legally marry since he had no registered household. But, his neighbors came to the rescue and helped him get a Jilin residence card and the deal was done. He commented that now he can live his life normally.
