The car sells for a 94 million yuan ($15 million) and there are only seven of them in existence so the owner doesn't have to worry about copycats. It has a top speed of 395 km/hr, and its lights are made of platinum, diamonds, and sapphire and its seats are sewn with gold thread. It took a lot of work by the organizers, the exhibitor, and everyone involved to get this precious vehicle to the expo venue.
The freight charge from Shanghai to Changchun alone was above 600,000 yuan, and insurance had a high premium. A Mr Zhang who was responsible for the transportation, said that it took three days to reach Changchun via special vehicles, although there are ordinarily much faster ways to get there, such as high-speed railway. But, this time, extreme care was the key.
It came with a team of professionals, including Canadian staff, who got to the expo venue ahead of time. The car has been shown at Shanghai and Tianjin expos, so Changchun is its third stop in China. Zhang says the vehicle is not for sale, and an upgraded version may be available next year, so this particular version may not appear in public again.
