The studio goes its start in 1946, as the first in the People's Republic of China sand has made and dubbed more than 2,000 films in its time, but, during China's reforms and opening-up to the outside world, starting in the late 1970s, it faced the possibility of going bankrupt because of its antiquated financial system. So, it began its reforms in 1998.
It had served the nation in relation to agriculture, rural areas and farm work, and established China's first national peasant film creation base. It also had other projects such as China's first world-class movie theme park, with Changchun Movie Wonderland, and the first national nostalgic movie industrial park - Former Site Museum of CFS for its collective industrialized development.
It also established a 1-billion yuan ($161 million) fund for movie making and to promote its industrial development with financial means. It has sought cooperation with other provinces and other countries, for example, "Universal 100" Changchun Film Studio (Hainan), a project whose goal is to link it with the world.
