NE China takes to the air in the fight against dry weather
2015-07-28
Technicians began working on making their own rain in a number of areas across Northeast China's Jilin province, on July 25, bringing a little hope to farmers in the struggle against dry weather, since the start of July, according to a local website, on July 27.
Jilin began using the cloud seeding method on July 21 and estimates that it has brought about 670 million cubic meters of rain, reducing the amount of land covered by drought from 13 counties down to eight.
Famers say that the much-needed rain has helped their crops to survive at a difficult time and they would welcome more rain.
