Jilin recently announced a special work safety campaign for hazardous chemicals stored in the province, in view of the warehouse blast in the city of Tianjin on August 12, according to a report from Jilin Daily report on Aug 25.

The provincial government has organized 6 monitoring teams and several inspection teams to do a thorough inspection of all the areas.

The areas getting the most attention will be dangerous chemical-related production processes, storage tank yards, warehouses, and hazardous materials business sites, with the focus mainly on the qualifications of both companies and employees.

The city says there will be zero tolerance of any violations related to work safety. They will take further steps to improve management of hazardous chemicals and are urging all administrative offices and officials to get tough.
