NE China hotel helps solve rural school's water problems

The water purifying equipment which was developed by Changchun Shangri-La Hotel together with international non-commercial organizations WATERisLIFE for a rural primary school in Siping, Jilin province was put into use on Oct 16, 2015, bringing clean drinkable water to the students and this program has won the Contribution Award of the Hope Project.
Both the students and staff members of the Shagucun Primary School had been suffering from water problems since the school's establishment because of environmental difficulties, so, when Changchun Shangri-La Hotel heard about it, it decided to take action.

After a 3-month study and checking of the situation and consultation with the WATERisLIFE people, whose goal is to provide purification equipment and health services to schools and villages in need, the hotel set up the local water purification system.
The hotel's general manager, Tian Keqiang, explained that this program is part of its public service work, then added, "We base our efforts on a theory of sustainable development and hope the students can spread the spirit of saving water to a wider area."
