One kindergarten in the town of Chaoyangchuan, Jilin province has been attracting pupils even from urban areas because of its style of teaching and special care for the children, chinajilin.com.cn has reported on Oct 29, noting that it takes advantage of its rural location to organize field trips and plant cultivation with teachers and parents.
Yanji Chaoyangchuan Kindergarten was built in 2013, away from the noise of the nearby city of Yanji, and close to natural and tranquility, with a deliberate design where the teaching building is surrounded by a playground, a yard, pavilions, and fountains and its walls can be used to display the children's work.

Children there are encouraged to "experience real life" and can take part in activities such as making bread, dumplings, moon cakes, or Korean spicy cabbage, or visit other schools, an army base, or a museum and learn calligraphy, or, as the head of the kindergarten, Yuan Hua, explains, "We not only give them knowledge, but also help them to experience and learn by themselves by respecting their curiosity and interests."

Which is why, today, after only two years of operation, Yanji Chaoyangchuan Kindergarten is attracting more children from both local and nearby urban areas.
