NE China using new marketing model for rice

2015-11-10

The China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone, in city of Fuzhou, in Fujian province opened a new Changchun Songhua River rice shop in its export business center, on Nov 7.

Changchun uses an online platform, a means of exploring and expanding its rice market in southeastern Chinese provinces and neighboring parts of Southeastern Asia.

In commenting on the new move, the head of the Changchun grain bureau, Bao Wenming, explained that a B2C online business model could bring greater and easier access to Northeast China rice to customers in Taiwan and elsewhere and extend the international market.

In speaking about the location, said Chen Danting, the manager of the export business center, told the unveiling ceremony, "Fuzhou is a major trade hub linked closely with neighboring provinces and SE Asian countries."

The Changchun grain bureau also signed a production and marketing agreement with its Fuzhou counterpart to help promote Northeast China rice products in the area and the Fuzhou party agreed to purchase 50,000 tons of rice under the cooperative framework.
