The Jilin provincial People's Congress Standing Committee has announced that Gao Guangbin, the Party secretary of the city of Changchun, has been named deputy governor at the committee's 22th session, on Dec 8.

In his acceptance speech, Gao said he will contribute to the rejuvenation of the province and its socio-economic development and that he is "determined to live up to the public's expectations".

The 52-year-old Gao is also an alternate member of the 18th Central Party Committee and a member of the Jilin Provincial Party Standing Committee and has served at Jilin Communist Youth League. He has a PhD in economics.
