NE China offers new routes to explore in its winter wonderland

The city of Linjiang in Jilin province says it is hoping to get more tourists to see its ice and snow wonderland this winter.

It has a favorable location, to the southeast of Changbai Mountain and on the upper reaches of the Yalu River, with some extremely cold but damp wintry weather.

In recent years, the city government has done a great deal to boost its winter tourism through new travel products such as skiing, winter swimming, and spas, making tourism a pillar of its economy, bringing in 250,000 tourists from China and abroad last year and 80 million yuan ($12million) worth of business.
