NE China Party secretary meets with Pakistani embassy official

The Party secretary of Jilin province, Bayinchaolu, received an official from Pakistan's embassy in Beijing, in the provincial capital, Changchun, on Feb 24.
He said that Jilin is interested in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, a joint effort to promote economic cooperation between the two countries.

Bayinchaolu went on to say that he hopes Jilin can cooperate with its counterpart in agriculture, automobiles, equipment manufacturing, and energy resources, while the Pakistani official described Pakistan's priority projects for the economic corridor, and said they can cooperate in those areas for mutual benefits.
The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a 3,000-kilometer-long network of roads, railways and pipelines to transport oil and gas from southern Pakistan to China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, a project that was first proposed by China's Premier Li Keqiang and his counterpart Nawaz Sharif, on May 22, 2013 in Islamabad, Pakistan.
