Three women football players will receive big rewards for their outstanding performance in China's endeavor for Rio Olympics qualification, announced by a Changchun club of Chinese women's league they have contracted with, on March 13.

Ren Guixin, Zhao Rong and Liu Shanshan, three Changchun players in the Chinese women squad, will receive the pure gold medals for helping the national team earn one of Asia's two places for Rio 2016 Olympics earlier this week.

Liu You, the Changchun club coach, will also get one medal for his contribution to reviving Chinese women football.

"We'd like to see our three team members to do better in Rio and to see all the women players and coaches that working hard get deserved recognition in helping Chinese women soccer return to the world class," Said Liu.

China, ranked 17th in the world, had failed to book a ticket to the London Olympics and was not favored in the Rio 2016 qualifications as compared to former world champions Japan, traditional powerhouses Australia and DPR Korea, but they, nicknamed "Steel Roses", have collected three wins and two draws to secure the Olympic slot in advance last week, beating Japan, South Korea and Vietnam, tying DPR Korea and Australia in Asian qualifiers.

The Changchun club had gifted a SUV vehicle to their player Ren Guixin, who's in the Chinese lineup to reach the quarterfinals of women's World Cup 2015.

"Chinese women soccer players deserve not only verbal honors, but also material awards," commented posters online.
