'Dead' woman comes back to life

Updated: 2010-02-03

A "dead" woman who was about to have her corneas removed "came back to life" in the anatomy department of the China Medical University in Shenyang, Liaoning province, last Tuesday.

Zhang, a professor at the university, who was about to remove the deceased's corneas, said she felt the woman's neck throbbing and screamed for help.

The woman had swallowed 200 sleeping pills in a suicide bid just hours earlier.

Amazingly, the woman's heartbeat was revived at the hospital and she was discharged a day later.
