As it is a main production area for wheat and rapeseed, personnel from local agricultural technical stations in Anhui province have been sent to help local farmers take care of winter crops.

"More fertilizer and straw coverings have been applied to maintain the temperature of the soil surface to prevent vegetables and crops from frost damage," said Li Shilin, director of the agricultural technical station in Fengtai county, Anhui province.
