The Organizing Committee of the 12th National Games announced on September 3 its plans to collect submissions for its emblem and slogan.

The 12th National Games will be held in August 2013 in Liaoning province.

The emblem should reflect the Olympic spirits of “faster, higher, stronger,” with the words “China,” “Liaoning,” and “2013” somehow included, according to Ma Xiangtu, the deputy secretary general of the committee.

It also needs to embody the abundant cultural heritage and regional characteristics of Liaoning province.

The slogan must be concise, innovative and easy to remember.

Authors of the selected emblem and slogan will be awarded 100,000 yuan and 10,000 yuan, respectively.

The collection will end on November 15.
