Shenyang – The 5th Korean Ethnic Group Folk Custom Festival was held on Sept 19 in the Korean Ethnic Group No.1 Middle School.

More than 2000 people of Korean ethnic group from 10 cities in Liaoning province were dressed in folk costumes, performing ethnic folk dancing and participating in traditional and modern sports events, to celebrate the festival together with 240 thousand Korean people living in Liaoning Province.

The festival was held by Korean Economic and Cultural Communication Association, aiming to promote the people’s cultural life. Since it first started in 2004, the festival has attracted Chosen people from the adjacent provinces of Heilongjiang and Jilin, and is the largest in scale this year.
