New city economic zones

Updated: 2010-10-14

Dandong's latest urban development strategy will create four industrial zones. The zones are expected to play a crucial role in attracting investment.

New District

The new district zone will act as the administrative, economic and cultural center of Dandong. It will highlight eco-friendly, modern industries.

Qianyang

Qianyang is intended to be an export-oriented processing zone and modern logistics center.

Textiles and equipment will be the area's pillar sectors, along with luxury yacht and car manufacturing.

Donggang

This region will highlight the stainless steel, machinery processing, shipbuilding and large, heavy equipment manufacturing sectors. It will serve as an industrial demonstration base for a circular economy and renewable resources. The area is key to Dandong harbor industries.

Dagushan

Close to the coastal city of Dalian and Dandong Port, the zone is expected to become an influential aquatic product processing, precision casting, renewable energy and tourism center.
