At the invitation of the Taiwan Council for Industrial and Commercial Development (CICD), Chen Zhenggao, governor of Liaoning Province, began his 7-day visit to Taiwan on Feb 15, 2011.

The Liaoning delegation led by Chen is the first group made up of Liaoning officials in charge of the economy, foreign trade and culture to visit Taiwan. The main aim of the trip is to promote cultural exchanges between the two sides.

Economic cooperation and the purchasing of agricultural products will also be discussed. During his visit, the governor is expected to attend the Liaoning-Taiwan Economic &Trade Corporation Forum, Liaoning Culture Week, and the Liaoning-Taiwan Tourism Promotion and Cooperation Forum. He will also visit Taiwan University and participate in the lantern shows in Taiwan.
