It is located in the Yanjiang district of Dandong city, between Hunjiangkou, downstream on the Yalu River, and the sea. The Yalu River Scenic Spot is 210 km long and covers an area of around 400 sq km.

Its basic attraction is its water, backed by mountain scenery. You can see the scenery from both North Korea and China. It contains six scenic areas, consisting of more than 100 scenic spots, including Shuifeng Lake, the Hushan section of the Great Wall, and the Yalu River Bridge.

This scenic spot is also the dividing line between the river and sea at the northernmost part of China’s 18,000-km coastline, and contains early human cave dwellings, old villages, and modern gardens that enrich the natural landscape and artificial scenery of this region.

Shuifeng Scenic Area: jointly controlled by North Korea and China and offers virgin forests and gorges on both sides of Shuifeng Lake, which are beautiful and covered with flowers and trees.

Taipingwan Scenic Area: mainly consists of the Gudu New Residential Area and Taipingwan Power Station.

Bridge Scenic Area: located in the urban part of Dandong, it is at the heart of the Yalu River Scenic Spot. You can gaze across the river at North Korea.

Hushan Scenic Area: situated between the bridge area and the Taipingwan Scenic Area, it holds a strategic position -- facing the “Tongjun Pavilion” part of North Korea, and is an important fort for the Chinese army in the distant past.

Hekou Scenic Area: consists of the Damaged Bridge, Changhe Island, and Longqian Villa.

Lvjiang Scenic Area: located at Hunjiangkou, between Jiangxiang, the town of Kuandian, and Jilin province, it has a beautiful landscape and the original vegetation.
