In 2010, Dandong turned over to the state treasury 195 million yuan customs revenues, up 9.8 percent over the previous year, according to the Dandong Customs on January 17.

During the period, Dandong Customs intensified supervision of the tax fund enterprises and commodities, tapped the potentials, and set up the monthly tax fund analysis and tracking system and service system, to ensure fulfilling the annual taxation task.

In terms of export, the Customs levied 108.90 million yuan, up 29.9 percent over the previous year. The top five commodities for export taxation were crude oil, steel, coke, aluminum ingots and ferro manganese. Crude oil revenues amounted to 96.7 percent of all export taxation. Since the end of last year, crude oil prices climbed in curved lines, a major element for export taxation growth. Cokes witnessed biggest growth rate in export taxation. They amounted to the third largest in tax fund commodities, totaling 474.4 tons, with 425,000 yuan tax levied, up 14.8 times and 17.9 times respectively.

In terms of import, the Customs levied 86.67 million yuan, down 0.8 percent from the previous year. Among them, the border small-volume import was taxed by 74.91 million yuan, down 0.9 percent. The top five commodities for import taxation were ore sands, electric energy, wet lead, pig iron and electrolytic zinc. The import taxation dropped mainly because of descended anthracite customs duties. In the first half of last year, the anthracite import maintained zero. The city resumed import since July. From September to the end of the year, the import increased steadily. The total import of anthracite amounted to 31,700 tons, with 3.354 million yuan tax levied, up 133.2 times year on year. However, it failed to offset the gap in the first half of the year. The annual trade of anthracite dropped by 52.4 percent, and resulted in 42.1 percent decline in taxation.
