Two programs in Dandong, Happy China Concert - Charming Dandong and Happy China Concert - Special Program, are to be broadcast on CCTV-3 at 20:00 on August 18 and 21 after two-months of preparation.

The shows were co-produced by the publicity department of the Dandong Municipal CPC Committee and China Central Television (CCTV).

The two shows promote Dandong's landscapes, folk customs and cultural traditions. Nearly 200 local officials and residents participated in the recording, hosted by Dong Qing, a famous CCTV hostess. Many famous Chinese singers also sang for the shows.

In Happy China Concert - Special Program, CCTV selected six city teams, including one from Dandong in Liaoning province, to compete on stage. The Dandong team, headed by the household Chinese singing group Alilang, presented a progressive image of Dandong city to audiences nationwide.
