Vote for China's top ten frontier cities

China's Frontier Cities (Counties) Top Ten ballot is now open for public judgment via the campaign's official online voting platform or hotline. The event is part of a series of activities called "Frontier Is Not Far Away", a charitable project co-sponsored by Sina, the largest Chinese-language web portal, and Global Times, an English-language newspaper under the People's Daily.

This event aims to arouse Chinese people's frontier awareness and to display the economic construction achievements of Chinese frontier cities. The campaign also demonstrates frontier development in regards to politics, economy, culture and national defense.

Voting for China's top ten frontier cities began on Aug 18. A list of 36 candidate cities is now open for public scrutiny. The campaign aims to receive public opinion on Chinese frontier cities.

The voting will last two months. Participants can vote through several means, such as via the websites of Sina and Global Times. A Sina blog and voting hotline are also available for participants to cast their votes.

Best sustainable development frontier city nominees:

Dandong, Yining (Yili Kazakh autonomous prefecture), Nyalam County (Shigatse), Heihe, Tengchong (Baoshan)
