Recently, 34 children actors of the Dandong Children Beijing Opera Troupe participated in the Fourth National Amateur Beijing Opera Contest held by China Central Television (CCTV). Wang Ruijie and Li Linghao won silver and bronze awards.

On Dec 8, Jiang Qiuju, the leader of the troupe introduced Dandong's new image to the audience on the contest's live final show for team performance.

Dandong's publicity and culture office has attached great importance to the city's children opera performance as a cultural name card for the city, a maneuver that was encouraged by experts and judges of the contest.
