In 2011, the first engineering ship with a 15 thousand ton displacement was launched followed by the operation of a high-powered tugboat. This fills the city's gap in the production of large vessels and tugboats. The production base for modern large vessels and marine engineering equipment was put in place along North Yellow Sea.
A ceremony was also held for the second phase of the Pastor 3.5 million tons of grain processing and utilization project. Once operating, the processing capacity of the soybeans will reach 6,000 tons per day, making it the largest soybeans production line in North China.
