On Feb 23, 2012, the yangge (a local folk dance) team members in Dandong, Liaoning province performed the dragon and phoenix dance to celebrate the traditional Chinese festival Long Tai Tou (Dragon Head Raising). The festival is on the second day of the second month in the Chinese lunar calendar, marking the start of spring and farming. During the festival, people have the customs of eating noodles and getting haircut to pray for good luck.
