The first Liaoning Calligraphy Competition was held at Yangfan Square in Dandong on Sept 8. Guo Xingwen, chairman of the Liaoning Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and several municipal leaders of Dandong attended the opening ceremony. Nearly 100 calligraphy enthusiasts from 10 cities, including Shenyang, Anshan and Benxi, signed up for the competition.
