Shi Guang, mayor of Dandong, met a delegation from North Pyongan province in the DPRK on Oct 29, Dandong News online reported.

The delegation received a warm welcome from Shi.

Shi welcomed the delegation and expressed his thanks for the great support from North Pyongan and Sinuiju city for the first China-DPRK Economic, Trade, Culture and Tourism Expo.

He said that as Dandong becomes the new access point to the sea in the eastern part of Northeast China, the city is facing an unprecedented opportunity to develop, propelling collaboration between both sides.

Both sides should widen cooperation and communication in areas such as trade, culture and tourism, added Shi.

The DPRK delegation also expressed wishes to consolidate cooperation to contribute to the friendship between the DPRK and China.
