A Dandong tourism promotion delegation attended the 2012 China International Travel Mart (CITM) held from Nov 15 to 18, reaching tentative tourism cooperation plans with cities in the area, Yanglujiang Evening News reported.
CITM is Asia's largest, most specialized and most influential tourism event. This year's event was unparalleled in exhibition area, total booths, and participating countries.
Having six domestic and foreign exhibition areas, the 2012 CITM caught the eye of exhibitors including tourism offices, travel agencies, hotels, scenic spots, airlines and travel websites of governments and other countries around the world.
The Dandong delegation introduced its tourism industry by promoting the Yalu River and travel to North Korea. Working staff from the Dandong travel and tourism administration introduced the city's characteristics, answered questions and handed out nearly 5,000 brochures. Various travel agencies also showed their new travel routes.
Dandong also had an in-depth discussion with Kaohsiung, a city in Taiwan, and reached agreements with cities in the Yangtze River Delta, including Shanghai, and provinces such as Jiangsu.
Dandong's special travel routes help enhance the tourism industry in the city and mark a new step for the tourism market in the delta.
