Dandong local taxes and dues reached a record high of 13.55 billion yuan ($2.1 billion) in 2012, 2.51 billion yuan more than that of 2011 and a year-on-year increase of 22.7 percent, according to the Dandong local taxation bureau.
Among the total revenue, tax revenues rose to 9.55 billion yuan ($1.5 billion), up 26.7 percent and 2.01 billion yuan from a year earlier.
Social insurance charges amounted to 4 billion yuan, a growth of 500 million yuan and an increase of 14 percent year-on-year.
Meanwhile, the Dandong municipal government has been carrying out preferential tax policies by cutting local taxes totaling 96 million yuan in 2012.
The local government also helped 298 small and medium-sized enterprises enjoy a tax cut of 25.71 million yuan ($4.1 million) in house and land taxes and tenure taxes in 2011.
