This county, to the north of Shenyang, covers 2,320 square kilometers and has a population of 470,000. It is 96 km from Taoxian Airport and 225 km from Yingkou Port, in the Shenyang 1-hour Economic Circle. It also has jurisdiction over a provincial development zone.
Faku is a national grain production base, a Class-A mineral resource site, national clay base, a Top 100 Green Counties member, and one of Liaoning province’s first tourism counties. In 2012, its GDP was 30 billion yuan, fixed assets investment, 26 billion yuan, revenues, 2.52 billion yuan, and industrial production output was worth 108.8 billion yuan.
Its Ceramic Industrial Park has a planned area of 30 square kilometers and already had 171 enterprises by the end of 2012, with an annual production value of 45 billion yuan. It ranks fifth among the country's ceramics parks and is the largest ceramics R&D, production and sales base in the Northeast, for architectural, creative, artistic, industrial, and various special uses, and for new building materials.
Faku's General Aviation Industry Base is China's first low-altitude aviation service station pilot, with a planned area of 68 sq km and a major airport. Its focus is on general aviation R&D, components production, assembly, manufacturing, aircraft maintenance, personnel training, aviation real estate, tourism and leisure, and emergency rescue methods.
The county has 132,000 hectares in agriculture with an output of 1.5 billion kilograms of grain, 50,000 tons of vegetables, and 30,000 tons of fruit. The county has an abundance of grapes, raspberries and peppers. Its total feedlot capacity is more than 850,000 head, and it can handle feeding, breeding, processing and marketing. Its Mengjia Green Food Processing Industrial Zone covers 20 sq km and contains 48 enterprises and has 5 billion yuan in fixed assets.
In the case of industrial projects, county fees for infrastructure and production are waived (except for water and sewage. The county will also provide electricity, roads, water, telecommunications, and cable TV infrastructure for enterprises and assist them with provincial and municipal financial support. For policy preferences, project contracts are determined on a case-by-case basis.
