NE China sees major foreign trade growth last year

The customs office of the city of Shenyang, Liaoning province reports total imports and exports worth 97.28 billion yuan ($15.65 billion) in 2014, for a 9.8 percent growth over 2013. in both export and import volume, with export volume growing 1.3 percent, and import volume, 17.9 percent.
The city's exports to 32 countries along the Maritime Silk Road were up 17.6 percent, at 12.6 billion yuan and exports to 47 countries along the land Silk Road up by a small margin and worth 7.6 billion yuan.
The city maintained growth in its exports of mechanical and electrical products, agricultural products and steel, while high-tech products and traditional labor-intensive products suffered from a decline.
