The State-owned Huachen Auto Group, based in the city of Shenyang, capital of Liaoning province now has authorization from BMW for its newly updated engine production program as of June 10, thanks to a signing ceremony in the city.

The program is a sign of major progress for Huachen in its strategy of using foreign car technology to expand the Chinese market, and to take the lead in the car engine business. The new engine is outstanding globally, with good fuel efficiency and low fuel consumption and is applicable to the BMW mini and BMW 1 and 3 series and a clear example of German precision, design, and quality.

In giving Huachen engine production approval, BMW also gives full support and guidance in R&D, purchasing, and management, the highest level of foreign support in China's car industry and a milestone for a Chinese car brand and use of advanced technology through international cooperation.
