Innovation forum boosts ties with Germany

The Sino-German Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Forum opened in Shenyang, Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on June 12, attracting participation of government officials and business representatives, according to local media.
Liu Qiang, deputy governor of Liaoning province, Pan Liguo, mayor of Shenyang, along with representatives from companies including VOITH, German Green City, SIEMENS and Huawei, attended the forum.
The plan for the construction of a China-Germany Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park was released at the forum.
Located in Shenyang, the industrial park will cover an area of 48 square kilometers. It will focus on four industrial clusters which are intelligent manufacturing, advanced machinery manufacturing, automobile manufacturing and industrial services.
Germany has long been a trade partner of Shenyang, with the import and export volume reaching $5 billion in 2014, ranking first among the 178 countries and regions that have economic and trade ties with Shenyang.
At present, Shenyang boasts a total of 60 German-owned companies.
