The city of Shenyang, Liaoning province, says that it is intent on developing its e-commerce across borders with some new concepts this year, while using its old advantages in manufacturing.
It reports that the Cainiao Network, an Alibaba subsidiary, plans to put 5 billion yuan ($788 million) into the Shenyang National E-commerce Demonstration Base in its Hunnan New District to boost China's smart e-commerce.
In a related note, Shenyang joined the cities of Lanzhou, Gansu province, Chengdu, Sichuan province, Wuhan, Hubei province, and Nanjing, Jiangsu province in establishing a "Belt and Road" cross-border electricity logistics alliance at the recent 2015 Lanzhou International Cross-Border E-Commerce Logistics Convention, in Lanzhou.
And the Yuhong district of Shenyang, the iSoftStone (Group) Co, and the Italy Weilong Group recently signed a cooperation agreement on a cross-border e-business platform and industrial chain procurement platform, to develop a Shenyang-based cross-border e-commerce center for all of northeastern China, and to help Shenyang’s e-commerce development.
