The 2016 China (Shenyang) International Tourism Fair, a business platform for travel agencies and travel enthusiasts, is set to open at the Liaoning Industrial Exhibition Hall of Shenyang city on Sept 8.
Spread over 13,000 square meters, the three-day event will have around 500 exhibition stands, and has attracted some 40 travel agencies, businesses and organizations; including organizations from the Netherlands, Russia, Thailand, Canada, America, Japan, and the United Arab Emirates, along with Hong Kong and Taiwan province.
With a theme of “international exchanges, mutually beneficial cooperation,” the exhibition will be divided into 10 topics by their categories and features, involving natural scenery, tourism experiences, history, and culture.
During the event, visitors can not only learn about the local conditions and customs of different countries and regions, but also discover and purchase discounted tourism products, said Yan Shouzhu, deputy director of Shenyang’s tourism committee.
In addition, the event is part of the Tourism Plus program, which refers to combining the tourism industry with other industries to bring about new experiences for tourists. According to the organizing committee, personalized travel products such as online travel bookings, outdoor travel equipment, and self-drive tours, will feature during the exhibition.
The annual event, which debuted in 2013, is aimed at creating an international platform for cooperation within the tourism industry, sales of tourism products, and the exhibition and sales of Shenyang tourism experiences, according to Yan Shouzhu.
