Shenyang Free Trade Zone has recently signed a memorandum of cooperation with the entry-exit inspection and quarantine bureau of Bayuquan District on customs clearance for imported goods, resulting in faster customs clearance times and lower import costs, Shenyang Daily reported on Jan 4.
According to the memorandum, all imported goods from Yingkou Port, expect for dangerous goods and those with a high quarantine risk, will be directly transported to Shenyang Free Trade Zone for inspection and quarantine without having to undergo inspection at Yingkou Port.
It was the second cooperation memorandum Shenyang Free Trade Zone has signed with the region’s inspection and quarantine bureaus. In July 2015, a customs clearance cooperation mechanism was jointly established by Shenyang Free Trade Zone and Dayaowan entry-exit inspection and quarantine bureau, which is responsible for the customs services of Dayaowan Port.
Based on the two cooperation agreements, it will save five to seven days on the inspection and quarantine of imported goods for foreign trade businesses in Shenyang, and the costs of imports will also be cut by around a third.
