The first piano music square made its debut at Shenyang Heping Sports Park on Aug 7, Chinanews.com reported.
The piano music square, which is called Lang Lang Piano Square, got its name from the world-famous pianist Lang Lang –– who was born in Shenyang, Liaoning province on June 14, 1982.
The square consists of a performance stage and a special area for a piano covered by a white half sphere. The square highlights the piano donated by Lang Lang and the piano area –– an area with a constantly maintained temperature designed to preserve the piano.
Construction of the square started on June 13 and finished in August.
An activity was held to celebrate the opening of the square on Aug 7, marking the first piano music square officially open to the public.
