The International Robotics Development Forum was held in Shenyang, Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on Aug 21.
Over 20 famous scholars in the field of robotics from the United States, France, Japan, South Korea and China participated in the forum, discussing the current state of robotics and likely future developments.
“As intelligent control technology develops, robotics are being applied to areas such as medical services, education, exploration, bioengineering and disaster relief,” said Chen Zuoning, vice-president at the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
“It will play an even bigger role in the future,” he added.
According to Raja Chatila, former president of IEEE, China has achieved unprecedented development in the field of robotics. It is of great significance that China has developed robotics in order to address social problems such as an aging population and labor shortages.
