Many people choose to celebrate Spring Festival by traveling, and Lijiang is one of the most attractive destinations. But what is the weather like there?

Lijiang lies on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and has a typical plateau climate – warm in winter and cool in summer. The average temperature during the year is between 12.6 C and 19.8 C. However, visitors should note that the temperature difference is sharp between day and night.

The average temperature in winter here ranges from -5 C to 15 C. It is comparatively low and the air is rather dry. One good thing is that sunny days are very common in winter.

Due to the sharp temperature difference, bring coats and jackets when visiting Lijiang. People wear thick coats and down jackets in the early morning and evening even in summer, and winter is no exception. But at noon it is quite sunny and guests can wear T-shirts. Be prepared and bring more coats to avoid catching a cold.
