Lijiang Airport's international passenger flow exceeds 100,000

The entry-exit population of Lijiang Airport exceeded 100,000 on June 24, people.com reported. Border police greeted the 100,000th passenger with flowers.

Lijiang Airport started operating international air transport on May 31, 2012. In the last two years, border agents in Lijiang have checked passengers from 52 countries and regions, such as Korea, America, Uganda, Surinam, Columbia and Germany. They also checked more than 1,000 flights. Two people who planned to flee abroad and two drug dealers were hunted down by the border police at Lijiang Airport. A total of 1,520.4 grams of methamphetamine were captured.

Lijiang Airport was built in 1995. By the end of 2013, 27 domestic and foreign airlines had regular flights to Lijiang, and it could reach 39 domestic and foreign cities.
