The Maguotou cloth of the Nakhi people, a kind of leather cloth designed by Nakhi artist Yang Hongju, has won the gold award of the "8th Yunnan Arts and Crafts 'Gongmei Cup'" at the Yunnan Cultural Expo.

The Maguotou Cloth reflects the leather craftsmanship of the minority Nakhi people, and highlights the charm of leather culture, thus building an excellent brand image of leather products made by the Nakhi People.

Having engaged in the design and production of leather products for over 30 years, Yang Hongju integrates the features of Nakhi folk costumes and Bai ethnic people as well as his creativity during the design and production of leather products to develop new products through studying various books on leather production and following the fashion trends of leather clothes.

His works have won great honors at the Yunnan Cultural Expo for three years in a row; that is, the award of merit for the "6th Yunnan Arts and Crafts" in 2012 for his Leather Hat of Nakhi people, gold award for "7th Yunnan Arts and Crafts 'Gongmei Cup'" for his Armor of a General in 2013, as well as a gold award for the "8th Yunnan Arts and Crafts 'Gongmei Cup'" for his Maguotou cloth of Nakhi people this year.
