Comprehensive and targeted financial literacy series activities started in Lijiang during the 2014 National Financial Literacy Month, Lijiang Daily reported.

The “finance enters university” activity organized by China Merchants Bank’s Lijiang branch started on Sept 12 in the tourism culture department of Yunnan University. Banks and insurance companies have set up information desks at the activity sites.

“The financial literacy series activities are based on the principles of unified time and theme with various forms,” said Li Xinyi, vice-president of the People’s Bank of China’s Lijiang branch.

The anti-counterfeit information desk is also set in the activity sites to help people better identify counterfeit money and better understand their customer rights and responsibilities.

The activities aim to improve customer rights protection awareness and promote inclusive finance.
