Retired Veteran Cadres’ Art Sports Event opens in Lijiang

The eighth Retired Veteran Cadres’ Art Sports Event opened in Lijiang on Sept 16, Lijiang Daily reported.

Bao Limin, vice-director of the Yunnan Military Area’s political department, gave a speech in the opening ceremony. “The art sports event aims to help retirees keep fit, and the event will provide them a good platform to make friends,” said Bao.

Luo Jie, Lijiang Party secretary, said that the army’s retired cadres are the wealth of the Party and the country. They contributed their lives to the army and national defense.

Altogether 17 delegations from 16 cities and prefectures attended the opening ceremony.
