Comprehensive pollution control work in Lugu Lake has been going smoothly in the last three years. Altogether 113.7 million yuan ($18.51 million) has been invested into Lugu Lake’s pollution control work, Kunming Daily reported.
In 2011, the Yunnan provincial government held a special Lugu Lake pollution control meeting in the Ninglang Yi autonomous county in Lijiang, Yunnan province. In the meeting, Yunnan deployed its 10 most important construction tasks in regards to the pollution control of Lugu Lake. Altogether 7.9 million yuan has been invested in the comprehensive reclamation of the river basin. The Langfang River small watershed project has been constructed and successfully passed the acceptance tests of Lijiang city. The comprehensive reclamation of the Dayuba River small watershed project started in 2012, and it is expected to finish construction by the end of this year. Meanwhile, altogether 38 million yuan has been invested into the landslide control project, and the construction work has already completed. In regards to the non-point source pollution control project, altogether 5.5 million yuan has been invested. Meanwhile, altogether 220 million yuan has been invested in the forestry ecological restoration project. Work to build man-made forests and seal off mountainous areas to facilitate afforestation has been carried out. Lake village comprehensive environmental governance has been carried out with an investment of 18 million yuan.
